Our Service Dog Jona

Meet Jona, PS14’s new therapy dog! Jona works closely with students in our K/1 class, helping to ease anxiety and build confidence in a fun and supportive way. Whether he’s acting as a reading buddy or helping students practice their addition and subtraction skills by rolling a dice, Jona makes learning engaging and enjoyable.

He even joins science lessons, where students explore concepts like force and motion as Jona pushes and pulls objects. One of his most entertaining tricks is balancing items on his adorable pink nose—always guaranteed to bring laughter and smiles!

As Jona walks through the hallways, he spreads joy throughout the school. Students show their excitement by making air hearts and blowing kisses, and his presence brightens the day for both children and staff. Jona also loves celebrating birthdays and spending time with our mascot, Tina the Tiger.
