R.O.A.R 2023-2024
At P.S. 14 we strongly believe that a supportive school environment is vital for all kids to “be our best selves.” Since 2019, we have been supporting students to make good choices through our system of school wide rules and positive behavior interventions and supports. Our P.S. 14 R.O.A.R. Program consists of two parts.
The first part is a system of school wide behavioral expectations for all students in all locations. Students are expected to be Responsible, Organized, Accomplished, and Respectful at all times. R.O.A.R. posters describing the behavioral expectations in more detail are displayed in every classroom and throughout the building in hallways, bathrooms, the cafeteria, the auditorium, and the schoolyard.
The second part of this initiative is a positive behavior reward system called Tiger Tokens. Classes earn Tiger Tokens when they show behavior that is Responsible, Organized, Accomplished, and Respectful. They collect Tiger Tokens throughout the entire school year. Classes are rewarded throughout the year based on the number of Tiger Tokens they have earned. There are multiple levels of rewards that allow every class to be celebrated throughout the year.
Families are our greatest partner in all that we do. Remind your child to be Responsible, Organized, Accomplished, and Respectful when they come to school each day!
